Cryotherapy

Occasionally, we may choose to utilize a freezing technique in order to fix your rhythm disorder.

Liquid nitrogen is circulated through the catheter tip, and instead of heating the heart tissue to eliminate electrically active problem areas, the tissue is delicately modified with a freeze-thaw technique that renders the heart tissue electrically inert.

Cryoablation differs from radiofrequency ablation in that lesions are partially reversible, so it is especially useful when we work in areas in close proximity to critical structures.
