Ilyas is a Texas native, growing up in Katy before attending Dartmouth College where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. After graduation from Baylor College of Medicine in 2002, he completed his internship, medical residency, and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals (Methodist, St. Luke's, Ben Taub General, and VA ). While at Baylor, he earned certification in medical ethics. He then obtained additional fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Texas Heart Institute, where he served as chief EP fellow. Dr. Colombowala is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He has published several scientific articles, most recently pertaining to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, and he has been recognized for outstanding research. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, travel, and skiing. |
